These days the barriers to entry for starting a business are next to nothing. Super low. Super cheap. So everyone is declaring business! And I can’t blame them. But y’all – business is more than an idea. More than marketing. More than selling. It’s legal documents, a business plan, bookkeeping and a profit and loss statement. It’s taxes, and EIN numbers and registering with your state for a sales tax ID. 

Don’t just “declare” business! Have a plan. Consult professionals. Have projections and direction so when you want to make leaps from your full time employee job to self employed- your partner can SEE the plan. Have a profit and loss statement so you can make educated decisions about expenses and investments. Have a business plan and financial projections you can take to the bank for those business loans.
